Lovana S. 'Lou' Jones was an Illinois State Representative from 1987 until her death in 2006. She was dedicated to advocating for abused and neglected children and served as a notable figure in her community. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, Jones graduated from Ohio State University and worked with the City of Chicago Department of Human Services. She won her seat in the Illinois House of Representatives by defeating incumbent Larry Bullock in the 1986 Democratic primary. In 2011, a Metra train station was named after her to honor her legacy.
