Lu Youmei, born on January 7, 1934, in Shanghai, is a prominent Chinese hydraulic engineer from Taicang, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from East China Institute of Water Resources in 1956 and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2003. He has held significant positions such as Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Electric Power, Deputy Minister of Energy, and General Manager of the China Three Gorges Project Development Corporation. Currently, he chairs the China Dam Committee and serves as a professor at Tsinghua University and Hohai University.
