Lubomír Šilar was a Czech sculptor and ceramicist, born on June 12, 1932, in Horní Čermná and died on October 27, 2016, in Prague. He graduated from the Academy of Art, Architecture & Design in Prague and spent most of his career working for the ceramics cooperative KERAMO. Alongside mass-produced designs, he created intimate works of art, including female and animal sculptures made from clay slabs. His works are exhibited both in the Czech Republic and abroad, and he is well-known for his public art, including reliefs in Prague.
