She co-founded the Center for Women's Human Rights (CEDEHM) and the organization Justice for Our Daughters (JPNH). Castro is renowned for her work supporting families of women victims of femicide and cases of trafficking and forced disappearance. She has brought attention to the societal impacts of military and police occupation, particularly on women, and has advocated for human rights defenders. Her efforts have led to significant international recommendations for the Mexican State.
