Lucky Pulpit was an American Thoroughbred stallion, foaled on February 10, 2001. He was the son of Pulpit and grandson of A.P. Indy. Though his racing career was limited due to respiratory issues, he became well-known as the sire of California Chrome, a two-time American Horse of the Year and winner of the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. Over his stud career, he sired 148 winners from 229 starters, amassing progeny earnings of $24 million before his death in 2017.
