Ludvík Aškenazy was a Czech writer, reporter, and radio worker born on February 24, 1921, in Český Těšín. He grew up in a Czech-Jewish family and spent much of his life in exile after World War II. Aškenazy served in the Czechoslovak Army during the war and later became a foreign correspondent for Czechoslovak Radio. After emigrating due to the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia, he wrote extensively, especially children's literature, and received recognition for his works. He passed away on March 18, 1986, in Bolzano, Italy.
