Luis Antonio Ribot García is a Spanish historian born on January 28, 1951, in Valladolid. He specializes in modern history and is a member of the Royal Academy of History. Ribot began his academic career at the University of Valladolid, where he served as a professor of modern history and director of the Simancas Institute. He moved to the National University of Distance Education in 2005. He received the National History Prize in Spain in 2003 for his work on the Spanish monarchy during the War of Messina. Ribot became a full member of the Royal Academy in 2010.
