He was appointed an Euskaltzain urgazle in 1996 and honored as an Euskaltzain ohorezko in 2010. Notably, he translated the works of Teresa of Lisieux, Saint Teresa of Jesus, and Saint John of the Cross into Basque, and he has created and published his own poems, verses, and memories.
