Luis Fernando Mejía Alzate is a Colombian economist born on December 6, 1978, in Bogotá. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Fedesarrollo, the most influential think tank in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Director and later Director of National Planning in Colombia from 2017 to 2018. During his tenure, he led the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda, established public policies on green growth and air quality, and coordinated technical support for Colombia's accession to the OECD.
