Luis Martínez-Fernández is a Cuban-born American historian and educator born on January 14, 1960. He specializes in the history and culture of Cuba and the Caribbean, as well as global contemporary history. He is currently a Pegasus Professor of History at the University of Central Florida. His books cover a range of topics, from early colonial Cuba to revolutionary history, and he served as the chief editor of the award-winning Encyclopedia of Cuba. Additionally, he was a nationally syndicated columnist from 2019 to 2023.
