Luis Montero Álvarez, known as Sabugo, was a Spanish communist leader born on April 30, 1908, in Casorvida, Spain. He served as the secretary general of the clandestine PCE (Communist Party of Spain) in the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp from 1943 until the camp's liberation in May 1945. He was also the primary representative of the PCE in Asturias from 1948 to 1950. Montero disappeared in France in March 1950.
