He was a prolific inventor with over 200 patents primarily in optics and electronics. Although he is often credited with inventing the first automated teller machine (ATM), this claim remains controversial. Simjian also held patents for various devices, including a flight simulator, self-focusing camera, and teleprompter, contributing significantly to technology in the 20th century.
