Lyda Green (October 16, 1938 - December 19, 2023) was an American teacher and a Republican politician in Alaska. Elected as a political newcomer to the Alaska State Senate in 1994, she unseated a Democratic incumbent who had served for 22 years in a district representing much of the Matanuska-Susitna area. She also saw two Democratic members of the Alaska House from the Matanuska-Susitna Valley defeated in the same election. Green served a total of 14 years in the Senate, with her final two years as the president of the Senate.
