Lyudvig Vasily Mirzoyan was a Soviet Armenian astronomer born on May 1, 1923, in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR. He earned his Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences degree in 1968 and became a professor in 1970. Mirzoyan was recognized as an academician of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences in 1996 and was a corresponding member since 1986. He was also honored as a distinguished figure in science of the Armenian SSR in 1974. He passed away on July 20, 1999, in Yerevan, Armenia.
