Mahahitana Arachchige Daniel (1953-1989) was a Sri Lankan politician active in the 1960s to the 1980s. He notably contested multiple parliamentary elections, winning a seat in 1965 and 1977. After resigning in 1982 amid gold-smuggling allegations, he returned to parliament in 1989. Known for his affiliation with the United National Party, Daniel faced various electoral challenges. His political career ended abruptly when he was murdered on June 25, 1989.
