He was involved in aiding stranded Allied pilots, distributing illegal press materials, and issuing forged identification documents. Initially active in the Apeldoorn area, he later hid in Roermond as members of the Dutch army were returned to captivity. Captured by the SD on June 9, 1944, he was imprisoned and ultimately executed on August 11, 1944, in Camp Vught.
