M.R. Srinivasan, born on January 5, 1930, is an Indian nuclear scientist and mechanical engineer. He played a significant role in India's nuclear energy program and the development of the PHWR (Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor). Srinivasan was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honor, by the Government of India in 2015. He also received the Padma Shri in 1984 and the Padma Bhushan in 1990 for his contributions to the field of science and technology.
