M. Shivanna, born on March 8, 1948, is a prominent Indian politician known for being a member of the 14th Lok Sabha, representing the Chamarajanagar constituency in Karnataka. He was associated with the Janata Dal (Secular) party and served on the National Commission for Scheduled Castes from November 14, 2010, to June 2014. Shivanna was the president of the Mysore district Youth Congress and held various positions within his party until his expulsion in 2008 for cross-voting. He switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party on March 27, 2017.
