He was officially named a suspect in a corruption case involving bribery for positions within the Tanjungbalai government. On April 24, 2021, the Corruption Eradication Commission accused him of attempting to bribe investigators with 1.3 billion rupiah to halt inquiries into the case of selling government positions.
