Mabel Addis Mergardt (May 21, 1912 - August 13, 2004) was an American writer, teacher, and one of the first video game designers. She is known for designing 'The Sumerian Game', which was programmed for the IBM 7090 in 1964 by William McKee. Her work influenced early games in the 1970s, including the construction of the Hammurabi video game.
