Mabel J. Desmond (1929–2023) was an American politician and schoolteacher from Maine. Born in New Brunswick, she graduated from Aroostook State Normal School and held various teaching positions from 1949 to 1994. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1964 and a Master's in Education in 1975. A Democrat, Desmond served four terms in the Maine House of Representatives from 1994 to 2002 and was appointed to the Maine State Board of Education in 2007, demonstrating her commitment to education and public service.
