Mabel Evelyn Houze Hubbard was an American judge and teacher. She initially worked as an English teacher and school administrator before pursuing a law degree at the University of Maryland after having children. In 1981, she was appointed to the Maryland District Court by Governor Harry R. Hughes, and in 1985, she was appointed to the Circuit Court for Baltimore. Mabel holds the distinction of being the first African American woman in both judicial positions.
