Maciej Garbowski is a Polish classical and jazz musician born on February 2, 1981, in Katowice. He plays the double bass and is involved in composition. Garbowski began learning the double bass at the age of ten and pursued studies at the Jazz Institute and the Classical Department of Katowice Music Academy. He co-founded the RGG trio and has collaborated with various notable musicians in the jazz scene. He has won several awards, including the Grand Prix Jazz Melomani for best jazz album in 2008, and is a bass lecturer at the Jazz Institute in Katowice.
