Magdi Ahmad Hussein is an Egyptian politician and journalist, born on July 23, 1951. He is the current editor-in-chief of Al-Shaab newspaper. Previously, he served as the spokesperson and secretary-general of the Egyptian Labor Party until its activities were suspended in 2000. He is now the head of the Al-Istiqal Party, part of the National Alliance to Support Legitimacy and Reject the Coup, formed after the 2013 military coup in Egypt.
