Magdi El Galad is an Egyptian journalist born in 1964 in Menia Qamh, Sharqia Governorate. He is the editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper since March 2012 and previously held the same position at Al-Masry Al-Youm from 2005 to 2012. Additionally, he teaches part-time at Cairo University’s Faculty of Media. El Galad began his career as an investigative journalist at Al-Ahram and has hosted TV shows like 'Itnin Fi Itneen' and 'Enta w Damirk'. He has faced legal judgments for copyright violations.
