Maggie Wallace Glover is a notable former American Democratic politician born on August 29, 1948. She made history as the first African-American woman elected to the South Carolina Senate, serving from 1992 to 2004 representing District 30. Prior to that, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 62 from 1989 to 1992. Glover was born in Florence, South Carolina, and is a graduate of Fayetteville State University and Francis Marion College, where she obtained her degrees in education.
