Magnus Gäfgen, born Thomas David Lukas Olsen on April 11, 1975, in Frankfurt am Main, is a German child murderer. He was arrested in 2002 for the murder of 11-year-old Jakob von Metzler, the son of a well-known banker from Frankfurt. The following year, Gäfgen was sentenced to life imprisonment. He is also known for his complaint regarding alleged police torture. In January 2015, it was revealed that he had changed his name from Magnus Gäfgen to Thomas David Lukas Olsen, reportedly inspired by the Olsen Gang.
