Colonel Magod Basappa Ravindranath VRC (1959 - 2008) was an officer in the Indian Army's 2 Rajputana Rifles Battalion. He was awarded the Vir Chakra, India's third-highest military honor, for his actions during the Kargil War in 1999, particularly in the battle of Tololing. As the commanding officer of his battalion, he led critical operations to secure strategic positions in the Dras sector, which significantly changed the course of the Kargil War.
