Mahant Swami Maharaj, born Vinu Patel on September 13, 1933, is a prominent spiritual leader in the Hindu Swaminarayan community and serves as the head of the BAPS sect. Known also as Keshavjivan Das Swami, he is regarded as the sixth spiritual successor in the lineage of Swaminarayan. His followers believe he maintains a continuous spiritual connection with God and embodies perfect devotion. He was initiated into Hinduism by Yogiji Maharaj in 1961 and was declared as the future spiritual leader by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in 2012, taking on the role after Pramukh Swami's passing in August 2016.
