Mahendra Narayan Nidhi (1922-1999) was a prominent Nepali politician and democracy advocate known for his Gandhian ideals. He served as Minister of Water Resources and Local Development during the interim government post-1990 revolution and was General Secretary of the Nepali Congress. His political career began in 1946 in Dhanusha, and he was elected to parliament in 1959 and 1991. Nidhi was the first Deputy Speaker of the Pratinidhi Sabha in 1959 and established Rajeshwor Nidhi Higher Secondary School in Nagrain, Dhanusha during the Rana regime.
