Majorie Marchi was a Brazilian black transgender activist from Rio de Janeiro, recognized as one of the key leaders of the LGBT movement in the city. Over her decade-long activism, she co-founded the Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals of Rio de Janeiro (ASTRA-Rio) where she served as president. She is also celebrated for reinventing the historical character of Francisco Manicongo as the transgender figure 'Xica Manicongo' and for creating the Xica Manicongo Award in 2010 to honor initiatives related to human rights for transgender individuals.
