Makmun Murod was an Indonesian general and diplomat born on December 24, 1924, in Baturaja, South Sumatra. He served as the commander of the Regional Military Command IV Srivijaya from 1962 to 1967, Regional Military Command V Jaya from 1969 to 1970, and as the commander of the Strategic Army Reserve Command (Kostrad) from 1970 to 1971. Additionally, he held the position of Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Armed Forces from 1974 to 1978 before passing away on September 13, 2011, in Jakarta.
