Makoto Ashizawa is a Japanese television announcer for Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Born on November 10, 1962, he retired from ABC on March 31, 2023, but continues to work as a senior announcer under a consulting contract. Known affectionately as 'Asshi', he briefly left his announcer role from November 1, 2013, to March 31, 2018, to work as a reporter and desk officer in the news department. Starting January 1, 2024, he will serve as an ambassador for the Kobes Shin-Kaichi Kirakukan, a venue for Ukyo Rakugo.
