Makoto Miike (January 12, 1901 – February 20, 1988) was a prominent Japanese politician during the Showa era, serving as the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. Born as the eldest son of Tetsuichi Miike in Saga Prefecture, he graduated from Kyushu Imperial University and worked at various companies before entering politics. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1949 and served multiple terms, rejecting factional affiliations to remain independent. Miike was involved in significant legislation and efforts to address issues regarding repatriated citizens. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 87.
