He was formerly an editorial committee member for the magazine 'Weekly Friday'. Sataka is a co-representative of the international network 'Overcoming Hate Speech and Racism' and is an advocate for the rights of the indigenous Ainu people. Recently, he has appeared on the YouTube program 'Democracy Times' alongside Sadakazu Hirano and Kihei Maekawa. In 2022, a seven-volume biography titled 'Makoto Sataka Biography Selection' was published.
