Malabika Sarkar is an Indian academic who served as Vice-Chancellor of Ashoka University and Presidency University, Kolkata. As the first Dean of Faculty & Research at Ashoka, she took over as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor from Pratap Bhanu Mehta. A professor of English Literature, she specializes in John Milton and the History of Science. Her book 'Cosmos and Character in Paradise Lost' was published in June 2012. Sarkar is a strong advocate for women's leadership roles in academia and has significantly contributed to enhancing Ashoka's national reputation.
