He served as the Minister of Religious Affairs during Abdoulaye Wade's presidency from 2000 to 2012. Known for his political affiliations, he supported Malick Gakou in 2012 and backed Macky Sall for the 2019 presidential election. Alongside his political work, he was the director of the daily newspaper Le Messager. Ndiaye passed away on July 3, 2020, at the age of 71 due to COVID-19.
