Mangasa Sotarduga Hutagalung, known as M.S. Hutagalung, was an Indonesian poet and critic born on December 8, 1937, and passed away on November 23, 2009. He initially wrote poems and short stories that were broadcasted by RRI Medan. After graduating from Universitas Indonesia, he published dozens of books and contributed hundreds of critiques and essays to newspapers and magazines, solidifying his legacy in Indonesian literature.
