Manju Sharma is an Indian biotechnologist and botanist, born on February 13, 1940. She has served as the president and executive director of the Indian Institute of Advanced Research in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Previously, she was the secretary of the Department of Biotechnology in the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2007, she received the Padma Bhushan award. Sharma is a pioneer in biotechnology studies in India, playing a significant role in establishing several institutions, including the National Institute of Immunology and the National Institute of Plant Genome Research.
