Dr. Manmohan Parida, Sc ‘H’, is the director of the Indian Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE) in Gwalior, having taken on the role from 1 October 2021. He is an accomplished academic, graduating as the top student in Veterinary Science from Odisha Veterinary College, where he earned three Gold Medals. He holds a master's degree in Veterinary Virology from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute and a Doctorate in Microbiology from Jiwaji University. He also conducted postdoctoral research in Japan under the Monbusho Fellowship.
