General Manoj Mukund Naravane is a retired General of the Indian Army, born on April 22, 1960. He served as the former Chief of Army Staff of India. Prior to becoming the Chief, he held the positions of Vice Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Eastern Command. He took over the role of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Army Command on October 1, 2018, from General Abhay Krishna. His predecessor as Chief of Army Staff was General Bipin Rawat.
