Manolo Tavárez Justo was a Dominican lawyer, political leader, revolutionary, and guerrilla fighter born on January 2, 1931. He was influential in the anti-Trujillo movement, particularly after the assassination of his wife, Minerva Mirabal, in 1960. After Trujillo's death in 1961, he led the Revolutionary Movement of June 14. Tavárez Justo was executed on December 21, 1963, for his armed resistance against the Triumvirate. His legacy is honored alongside the Mirabal sisters at the Mausoleum dedicated to them.
