Manuel A. Torres-Nieves, born on April 9, 1965, is a prominent Puerto Rican political figure known for being the longest-serving Secretary of the Senate of Puerto Rico in modern history. He served from 2005 to 2008 and held various roles, including Acting President of the Senate. He was the first Electoral Comptroller of Puerto Rico and served multiple terms as Senate Secretary until January 11, 2021. On March 11, 2021, he was nominated by Governor Pedro Pierluisi for the position of Comptroller of Puerto Rico, a key governmental role.
