Manuel Alberto León Lugo, known as 'Malberto León', 'El Lyon', or simply 'Lyon', was a Mexican cartoonist and comic artist born on July 22, 1956, in Mexicali, Baja California. He graduated in architecture but became best known for his work in graphic humor and editorial cartoons in various local and regional newspapers from the late 1970s. His most significant creation was 'El Chicali News' and its central character 'El Chicali', which reached a wide audience, distributing over 100 issues across Baja California and beyond.
