Manuel Carra Fernández is a Spanish pianist, composer, and music educator born on April 2, 1931, in Málaga. He studied under notable instructors including María Luisa Soriano and José Cubiles, and furthered his education in music analysis with Olivier Messiaen. Carra was an active concert pianist and taught for over fifty years at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid. He co-founded Grupo Nueva Música, which included prominent composers. His notable works include a piano concerto recognized for its Passacaglia dedicated to Alban Berg. In 1998, he became a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
