Manuel Ferreira de Faria was a Portuguese musician and canon, born in São Miguel de Seide on November 18, 1916. He was ordained as a priest in 1939 and became a canon of the Braga Cathedral in 1966. He studied at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome, specializing in Gregorian Chant, and received a master's degree in Composition from the National Conservatory of Lisbon. Known for composing over 550 works, including sacred, profane, choral, and symphonic music, his most famous piece is the 'Avé de Fátima'. He also hosted a weekly music program on Rádio Renascença from 1976 to 1981.
