Manuel Rius i Ramos was a musician and composer born on January 17, 1923, in Ginestar, Spain. He became known for his numerous sardanas and popular melodies for the gralla. Learning music from a young age, he played the saxophone and clarinet while working as a farmer. Rius was involved with various orchestras, and later contributed significantly to teaching and the creation of arrangements for orchestras, bands, and gralla music until his death on June 2, 2004, in Sant Pere de Ribes.
