His artistic journey began in Barcelona, interrupted by the Spanish Civil War, leading to his exile in France where he engaged with surrealist artists. He returned to Spain in 1949, initiating a successful series of exhibitions. Viola passed away on March 8, 1987, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
