Marat Hovhannisyan is an Armenian surgeon born on September 21, 1945, in Nor Bayazet, Armenian SSR, USSR. He obtained his Doctor of Medical Sciences in 1989 and became a professor in 2002. Hovhannisyan served as the president of the Armenian Military Medical Academy starting in 2000 and is one of the founders of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Armenian Army.
