He has served as the mayor of Igualada since June 11, 2011, and is currently the fourth vice president and delegate for Infrastructure, Equipment, and Architectural Heritage at the Barcelona Provincial Council as of 2023. He was also the president of the Barcelona Provincial Council from June 28, 2018, to July 11, 2019. He holds various leadership roles in regional institutions, including being the president of the Intermunicipal Community of Conca d'Òdena.
